Friends of the Elderly

Friends of the Elderly is a voluntary, non-denominational organisation that works to alleviate loneliness and isolation by providing friendship and social contact for the aged 65 and older population of Dublin.

Visiting elderly people who feel alone is the most important work carried out by Friends of the Elderly. Their abiding motto is; “above all we need love.”

The charity has 400 volunteers visiting elderly people in their homes or in nursing homes or hospital. Elderly people are referred to us by social workers, GPs, community nurses, concerned neighbours or relatives.

Friends of the Elderly can be contacted anytime about arranging visits from one of their volunteers using the information below, or by filling out the contact form on their website: http://www.friendsoftheelderly.ie/contact/
